The Nairobi queen encourages gratitude in a warm-hearted new video.
With her previous album, She, released in 2018, Muthoni Drummer Queen reinterpreted the “Motown formula” in a Generation Z style. Following on from her feminist single “Power,” released last year, the Kenyan queen now returns with “Give Thanks.” Arranged once again by the Swiss beatmaking duo GR! & Hook, the track swings between hip-hop and future R&B, while the singer enjoys the best East African beaches in the sun kissed video.
“’Give Thanks’ is a song that means so much to me at this point in my life. It is a song about gratitude and I am so grateful to be able to keep creating music and sharing it with the people who have always shown me such immense support,” the singer explains on social media. The track also heralds a forthcoming album from the artist, due out this autumn.
